Vigilance on chemical products

Thematic Working Group

The Working Group (WG) on "Vigilance on chemical products" reports to the CES on "Assessment of chemical risks of consumer items and products".

This WG is tasked with the following:

analysing the data extracted from the poison control centres' National Database on Products and Compositions (BNPC): identification of product categories containing one or more chemicals of interest, precise data on compositions (qualitative and quantitative), changes in compositions over time;
analysing the data extracted from the poison control centres' National Database of Medical Cases (BNCM): circumstances of exposure, symptoms, severity, causality of the exposure agent(s);
analysing the feedback received from doctors in the Dermato-allergology vigilance network and Dermato-allergology study and research group (Revidal-Gerda) concerning observations of clinical skin manifestations;
identifying or reporting emerging risks, identified through scientific monitoring or clinical practice, associated with chemical substances or products, in order to undertake potential studies on the subject.
